Another from Essex

Hello,

Good to see so many members in Essex. I own a 2008 Burgman 650 from new, and a newly acquired 2009 Peugeot Satelis 250 which I wanted for doing small trips around the area to save using the car...or heaving the Burgman about.
I may have to sell the big scoot in the foreseeable future as I'm having some difficulty in man-handling the machine...coming up to 70 with a few health issues, hence the Satelis. With the sheer bulk and drive train always engaged it is getting to be heart-atack country. I already have a prospective buyer, being the owner of the shop where I bought it. He wants it for himself, and keeps reminding me, in case I forget!
The Peugeot is so light, comfortable, and easy to put on the centre stand, almost one-handed, and has a great grin-factor....and does it go! No problem doing 80, and should do 80-85 mpg, at least.
I've also spent a few months last year totally renovating an old Suzuki GN250 from a rust heap to looking quite nice....still work to do, and spares from Ebay. Good to get hands dirty and mind active...or is it the other way round? Never done this type of work before and totally intrigued at how a bike is put together. So, I will be looking for a small scooter as my next project to try and understand how the mechanics work at first hand.

I want to try my hand at air-brushing to make a custom scooter. Has anyone got hints and tips, please? I have the gear, but apprehensive at switching on! ;-)

Take care on the roads Driftwood.

Welcome, fellow Satelis person!

I am on my 3rd Satelis 250 executive, although I still own both the second and the third one, as one is proving difficult to get running with some mysterious electric or electronic gremlin.

See the reviews section for a long thread on my last 3 years of running Sat No.2 over 31k miles from new.
