Just saw this lol
It was great to meet you and your family Lyn, thank you for your hospitality
have already written a report for Lyn via PM... will copy and paste
EDIT:
Expectations were met
I filled up twice on the journey home, first time I got tricked by the fuel tank, second time I filled it up to just on the bottom of the Holy cylinder and got a full tank.
I didn't get wet through, my Richa textiles are pretty good that way, I did hit about 12-14 showers for no longer than a minute at a time. The Sun was shiney and warm back home.
I went the way Lyn said (A56, A4... something, M56, M6, M1) was pretty easy, but when I was half way down the M1 I went across on the A414 rather than to the M25 to hit a highly roundabouted route so I can keep the tyres from going square, she is flickalicious. I literally had to push down the Nexus into corners to make it corner kind of like a Motorcross bike where as the TMax just took a little coercion (likely just my riding style, low speed but with lots of tweaking the throttle on corners with boat loads of counter steering, just letting the bike go a low as I dare).
The ride took 4 hours 15 minutes as google says but i had two 20 minute breaks, average speed was 80-85. The TMax is definitely quicker than my Nexus on acceleration.
What I didn't say to Lyn was that I miss the sound of the Nexus engine... I rode a Yammy X-City 250 for a few weeks beginning of 2011 due to an accident on my Nexus... the TMax sounded a bit like that through my spare helmet, I'll be able to listen better with my normal helmet and less wind noise
The Nexus is skinnier around the waist and hips and has a better looking front view.
But which would I prefer? Hard to say this early on but I think the TMax will win out because the Nexus for me is like Style over Reliability... that and I have always had a hankering for a TMax MK3.
