Just been to Asda and had a quick look at the mags, like us guys do :)
This months Ride had both the BMW and the Aprilia SRV, but in 2 separate reviews with 2 diff riders, so they couldnt compare, though I think the BMW's came out best, the guy didnt like the Aprilia at all, couldnt even get his helmet under the seat !! But he did say he was a bike fan and didnt like scooters.
Lets hope 1 mag tests all the current maxi scoots from 400cc up, together, soon.

Aprilia and BMW launches were held in 2 different countries at near enough the same time......which I thought was a bit daft.

So they send someone all expenses paid to test the new SRV and he openly admits he doesn't like scooters? How fucking stupid. Same mentality as those inbreds at MCN...

I couldn't really work out what they thought of the BMW Scoots (except for the price being too high, obviously). If you take individual sentences, they praise the BMWs on most counts, but somehow end up sounding not enthusiastic.

I've lost interest in MS&L after subscribing to it since the early 80's when it was just plain Motorcycle Sport, and I binned about five years worth of recent back issues a few weeks ago. The same publishers buggered up Twist & Go from essential reading to the rag it is now when they took it over. There's hardly a decent bike mag to read anymore, Adventure Bike Rider is pretty good and I have a subscription to that and to an American touring oriented magazine called Road RUNNER.
Yes, MSL seems to have gone down hill. Better than the other mags, but pretty bland. The only half decent mag is the (free) Motor Cycle Monthly - and they even take scooters reasonably seriously

Couldn't agree more. MCM is excellent, more balanced and less biased and actually know a thing or two about scooters. And it doesn't cost a penny and pisses all over those inbreds at MCN... ;)
