Northern Muppets ride out - again 19th 20th May.

Northern Muppets the next ride out is planned for the above dates - probably the Sunday as more people seem free. I think the Lakes with maybe a ride to Glasson Dock - lead by Sylvar would be a good run out. (Roy is this feasable)?

Route ideas and meeting points welcome.

I am also looking at a trip via Hull to the Land of the Euro. I know Clive + Mrs and Me + Mrs are keen, any others want to express an interest. Let me know so I can try for discounts etc. I am thinking Leave Friday Evening, back Monday Morning.

You little Tinker, you're determined to rope me in on these rideouts. Glasson Dock after the lakes, might be a bit too much in one go. I have ridden to Bowness on Windermere,after a break at Glasson Dock I avoid Motorways whenever I can, I just get bored on them, for people like yourself it could be a very long day. I had a great run today over Hawes to Buttertubs and Thwaites, over the moors to Kirby Stephen and back to Hawes again. What would be your intended your route?

I have penciled the date in for this, I have never done a lakes run on the bike so cant suggest routes but i remember a thread on here about a route that takes you up a hill which is popular for bikes?? looking forward to it.

That hill is probably Hardknott Pass, but only if you like riding up and down hairpin bends with a gradient of 1 in 3.

Thats the one, sounds like an interesting route, living where i do hills and hairpins are no problem, i have heard many stories about the pass so i think i may have to have a go at that some day.

Some of the finest bike roads are in Lincolnshire. You should try this way. Or is it too far south?

if you go to tyre you can get an idea where other people have been. it even give you the full routes

Count me & mrs in Gerard, good on yer for getting things moving too. Did Hardknott years ago in a 600 cc Citroen car so will def be alright on a Burgman, just not sure without checking if mileage a bit ambitious. Will have a look Be good to see everyone again, looking forward to it. Clive
