I picked up my burgman k8 yesterday and wanted to report on my ride back. Nice ride but the weather protection isn't as good as the tmax. love the space under the seat loads bigger than the tmax. The mirrors are weird as the are alot closer to me than the tmax as they are near the front. love the dash. At low speeds under 50 there is a slight shuddy is this normal for this bike. what should i check first, belt, rollers. nice and smooth over 50 up to 95 but havent gone past that as it go's to 9000rpm in the red.

For the shudder, I would first check the tyres and rims. You may need the wheels balanced?

I have the same shudder on the tmax which is quite noticeable when i lift off my hands. It happens just between 35-40mph and turns into a tankslapper if i leave my hands off long enough. I think this is a symptom of wheel balancing. I'll need a new front tyre pretty soon so once it's changed, i'll see if it improves.
How did it feel above 80? does it feel strained or happy at those speeds?

I recently changed bar end weights to a lot lighter ones, almost weigh nothing, but a nice blue colour, I notice when I take my hands off the front end starts to "waggle" more

Steve,
I assume you got a 400 Burgman.
Two things to do as soon as funds allow. Fit a GIVI Airflow screen and fit 18 gram Doctor Pulley Sliders. Made all the difference to mine.
Cheers,

yep I did it's a k8 on a 58. The screen really doesn't bother me. Dr pulleys? Can I put into my original variator? I think the shudder is the belt, the noise is coming from there. Going to check it today or tomorrow.

Hello Steve,
Dr Pulley Sliders are a straight swap - make sure you get the 18 gram ones. Best of both worlds, acceleration and mpg - (Revs drop quite markedly after 50 mph).
Cheers,
