Hi folks! I am still alive just getting more decrepit by the day! Hope all are well, I've been busy with the family and not been on the forum and am now a Granny so the bike has been rather left out of things. Had to have eye surgery too as vision had taken a plunge and I didn't feel visually safe on the bike so not ridden much over the last 18 months but just had to MOT the old girl and it made me realise how much I've missed being out on the bike. Have been finding it harder to push the 400 about although riding her is fine and hubby has been taking her to work so has been putting on the miles and leaving me a push bike to get to work on the odd dry day..... It is battery assisted tho! However, he is considering taking on Betsy as being the most economic way to travel while I downsize to something I can handle when not riding ie pushing it about. Have been thinking of the 200 Burger. Has anyone else downsized like this and how have they found it? Any (polite) comments welcomed.
Really have missed you all and the rides but you know what's life's like!

I downsized, though not by design, at Xmas from Burger 650 to Honda SH125.

Certainly the smaller lighter machine has benefits, but also clearly some limitations, so I guess you'll need to assess what level of cruising top speed (and road presence) you need.

Large wheels, though reducing storage, have many benefits and I enjoy the extra confidence and capability they give. I occasionally use a topbox if leaving the scoot at the station with helmet & jacket inside. It's certainly cheap to run and 100mpg, but only 50-55mph cruising speed, though I went 125cc so my son can also ride on L plates.

Maybe a 125 is unnecessarily small, but 250/300 options exist, didn't especially like the SH300 I looked as too cramped, but you may be OK or Sym/Kymco etc.

you soon aclimatise to whatever power bike you ride. ive been between 500's and 250's a few times. downsizing is no real issue. just pick a bike you like.

The xmax 250 Yam is a great bike,a bit more expensive than some 300/400 scoots, but you pay for the quality.And it looks amazing and its very easy to push around.

its got massive storage under the seat, Su got a brand new one a few months ago, loves it, it can do 80mph
