You know when some one's had your pants down, the last thing you want is reminding of it.

Just done some work on the daughters car (Ford KA) 2 front brake disc, new pads and shoes,
4 spark plugs, oil filter, 5ltrs oil, 2 suspension arms =£128.

Last month I fitted 2 front brake disc to Burgman 400.= £106.

Now that's taking the piss.

You can get a full set of discs and pads for a three litre Jaguar X-type (Mondeo) for that kind of money.
The reason car parts are so much cheaper is economy of scale, there's not many Burgmans, there are shedloads of Ford KAs.

If it was not for the enjoyment of riding I too wonder why.

My local dealer wanted £286 just to do my 600 mile service! Suzuki actually say 4 hours and I have that in writing from them. I went to another dealer 25 miles away and they did it for £130. On querying Suzuki's head office 4 hour reasoning, they stated that they were allowing for differing levels of mechanical abilities. So we as the customer are paying for untrained mechanics to look in a service book on how to do it! They also questioned about the Suzuki dealer doing the service for only £130 stating to ask them if they completed the full service!! Suzuki head office and my local dealer still think that the 650 needs the valves checking at 600 miles, how out of touch they are and supposed to be the experts.

However our 1 year old Hyundai i10 just had it's 1st service at only £88, That included a courtesy car.

Additionally I was thinking of a Honda PCX 125 as a quick run about. On enquiring about the service intervals they quoted £60 per hour (£50+vat) and 3 hours labour plus parts as the valves need checking every 2500 miles or if by the schedule every 6 months!! Making it quite expensive to run if you were to do this, and I wonder on a major warranty claim if Honda would quote this if you did not comply with their printed schedule?

My little rant.

its same with every thing in our country,

That's exactly what I'm taking about, that would have cost about £2 from my local engineer's supplier.
I'm also not in to this bollocks about they don't sell enough for fucks sake how many Burgman's have been made.
Here's another example £2.46 for one plastic clip to hold the panels on from Suzuki main dealer.£5.38 for ten off
the net exactly the same thing what's that all about. Where all being shafted and I'm seriously thinking about
going back to a bike.
