AFAIK all 125 (and below) Hondas are 600 or six months then 2,500 or six months then intervals of 2,500 miles or six months.

That's quite right. First service 600miles, do not reset oil light, oil light comes on at 2400miles, and then every 2400 miles. To reset oil light, hold down reset, turn on ignition and wait 3 seconds until the light goes out.

Which is all pretty crap really, given that Piaggio service intervals for the new LX125 are 6000 miles. Slocombes in North West London ditched the Honda franchise because of ???? and took on a Piaggio/Aprilia franchise. According to a salesman Piaggio were a breath of fresh air. That means Honda must be really bad in terms of dealer support...? Huh?

Nice to see you again Gn2, I was hoping that service interval was just a PCX thing!
So how much are services on hondas generally?

On my old SH125 it's about 15 minutes and 0.9 ltr of semi-synth 10W40, about £3.
But if you're buying new and planning on paying dealer rates naturally quite a lot more. You should really tie them down before buying, at least make sure the 1st service is completely free.

Its used not new Poldark, 2008 model. So is it easy to do yourself then? If so I'll do it!

It varies from dealer to dealer and location to location, anywhere from £50 to £130
You can do it yourself for very little money.
The trickiest bit is to check the valve clearances, you could probably get away with doing that every 5,000 miles.

My local Honda dealer says they don't bother with valve check until 16k,
Oil change is a complete doddle, especially if yours like mine has a strainer rather than a filter, just need a drip tray a litre of oil and a bit of common sense.
