A good review for the Aprilia SRV?

Yes, the new edition of MS&L contains a review of the Aprilia SRV and the guy seems to like it :o There again, the guy in question always seems to love anything Italian. There again, it has comments as 'it doesn't seem to steer as slowly as I remember the GP800 doing' and says that you might get a full face helmet under the seat if you buy the right model. Anyway, he definitely like the performance and the room.

There's also a review of the X10 350, though the article is very brief and is obviously based on the launch.

The most interesting article is actually about a forthcoming Chinese designed & made 650cc 70bhp naked bike, with apparently decent build quality, well engineered, is fun to ride and going on sale for around £3700! That should get the Japanese makers worried. Apparently other models are on the way, including a fully faired tourer.

Its certainly similar in concept to the Kawasaki ER6, but I don't think there's any commonality. The touring version looks interesting...

I was looking again at the Aprilia SRV in The Rocket Centre at Blackburn. I sat on their demonstrator, but i didn't like the feel of it, or the bump in the middle of the footwell that made it awkward to get my foot across. I also thought there wasn't much room under the seat compared to my Silverwing. I suppose it is meant to be more of a speed, come throwability bike, than a tourer. I was offered a test ride then and there but, it just didn't appeal to me, so i declined. Horses for courses as they say. :)

The MSL test mentioned the awkwardness of getting your leg across the hump. And yes, very little storage space. Apparently its great for blasts down the Autostrada though.

Maybe mount it like a proper motorbike ?
You can get a topbox that will fit 2 helmets, so storage shouldnt be a problem, you can put your coats and pants under the seat, helmets in the box. Su wont go on a bike unless it has a box to lean on, In the FZ1 I think she was a bit worried about sliding straight off the back if I set off fast.
