Is it me?

Is it me, or do I detect an air of disinterest in maxi scooters at the moment?
More members seem to be selling than buying, and of those, more of those seem to be buying smaller scoots.
Also there seems to be a huge rise in negative comments regarding Burgers, whereas a couple of years ago, there was nothign better, (except the TMax), with everything else being, at best, suspect, and at worst, rubbish.
In my own area there seems to have been an increase in maxis on the roads, whereas, from what I hear, everywhere else appears to be dropping off.
Or is it just the time of year?

I thought we were doing quite well.
Some new models just released and (Ahem) rumours of more on the way.
There are lots of negative comments around but they seem to be "this scooter doesn't suit my exact needs/wants so anybody involved with it or buying it is an idiot"
Well strike a blow for freedom and don't buy it, then shut the fuck up.
It is turning new members away by making them feel unwelcome because of what they ride - and maxi riders get enough of that crap without doing it to each other

We do seem to be getting a steady flow of new members though. Sales figures show that (the admittedly low) level of sales of maxis is holding up quite well in comparison to other PTW segments.
All that is lacking for maxis to really take off in the UK is to get the dealers and media away from the "fast = good, practical = boring" attitude they have had for so long.
Oh, and for the economy to pick up so people can afford to buy something other than a basic 125.

I am still young enough at heart to think that 'fast = good'

I was reading Motorcycle Sport & Leisure's test on large touring bikes, Gold Wing, BMW1600, HD Electro Glide, they are Heavy Tourers, I think the Burgman 650 is a much better machine than them, it also, has features many of them lack, Good adjustable screen, folding mirrors, Overdrive selectable autobox and practical underseat space, some did not have heated seat or grips. The cheapest was £16000 rising to £24,500.
I have always enjoyed my trips away on the Burgman, I think that makes the Burgman king of the tourers, and light in weight and money.
It has been much better to ride than the Pan-Europeans I've owned as well.
Many American's are using these scoots for more than they were designed for, and in the main they are doing a good job for them.
Spike take a pill.
