The 1981 Silver Wing was a totally different machine, it was a CX500 with touring fairing and luggage.

Thankyou for your replies and the usefull website,incidentally my Silverwing was made in Japan.
The "Old" type Silverwing were very good and reliable,they used the faithful CX motor,it had a shaky start but the Despatchies loved them when the niggles were ironed out,well they were a CX really with a fairing.
