MCN today T Max mk 4 V GT 650 BMW
Chaps it in MCN today a comparison test between the 2 Major players in the Maxi Market . MCN don'y usually cover scoots , but they give a fair account of both, but give the Beemer the edge on everything but price and in town sub 40mph usability . Worth a look , or stand in WHS for a free read

Re: MCN today T Max mk 4 V GT 650 BMW
Hmm. The guy in Montpelier, that I sold my Mk3 to, had just ridden a Mk4 and hated it. He said that the belt drive was whiny and nasty and that he much preferred the Mk3. I can't comment, other than that he bought my Mk3 instead and that I haven't ridden a Mk4. All the French Maxi magazines rate the Beemer over the Mk4, but only by a small margin. And they usually rate the Mk4 as being a bit more manoeuverable than the C600 Sport. Not that I find the BMW any less manoeuverable. It just feels slightly heavier but has a better turning circle. So not much in it really... Surprisingly MCN seem to have got something right for a change...
Must pop into WHS to drool over something other than scoots. How about two tone pussies?

The 530cc turn me off more than anything. I'd like something stronger. Hopefully now that BMW is also in the game, Yamaha will feel the need for speed. They should make the jump to 750cc.

I've now read the article (God, I even bought a copy of MCN!!!). I'm puzzled. The write refers to the C650GT having the Flexi-case system, and how wonderful it is. Now I distinctly remember reading that the GT did NOT have the flexi-case, only the Sport.
Now have BMW changed their minds (it would presumably be easy and very worthwhile to have the flexi-case on there), OR is the MCN journo talking crap???
Anyone examined a GT yet???

As usual the idiot journalist is talking crap. The Sport has the Flexcase the GT does not. The article is full of inconsistencies. First he says that the finish under the seat is very un-BMW-like then he says that the plastics are better than the TMAX. Hmm. More Crap News
He also says that the TMAX is quicker up to 30mph. Maybe the new 530 is, the old one certainly isn't.
