Straight forward question is it worth it if not what is it worth ?

HOW MUCH?

A 2005 can only be worth £2.5k, tops! If anyone pays £4k for that, I'll hunt them down, and gut them like a fish!

Well 1st off it looks good - loads of useful extras and only 6K miles (why?) - and its a mk2 not a mk1.

I can't imagine a proper dealer would be too far off beam price wise. £4K strikes me as being on the high side for a 2005 bike BUT it is main dealer prices and the mileage is low, and you probably get a warranty. I mean YellowMax was selling his not very old mk3 on here recently for £5k....THAT was more of a bargain.

no it isn't, hence it's not selling. I've been keeping an eye on the classifieds for some time and this has been around for a while now. Asking 2010 silverwing/burgman400 price for a 2005 tmax is not logical, no matter how much it is seen as the "God of scooters" by some.

StevenM, that mk3 is a recent one, as it was not advertised in the past few weeks. I saw it yesterday too, and something about it just made me uneasy. Maybe the fact that similar models are advertised for £2k more than that, or maybe it looked scruffy, or maybe it was the lack of personal detail in the ad (just generic bike info).

Also is it a crack in the rear fairing that i see or is it sun glare?

I didn't see the mk2 black before either... Good find.

I know what you mean about been a bit uneasy. Too good to be truth came to mind. I dont mind a bike if cosmetically it's a bit tired but mechanically. The body work can be fixed over time.

True, in fact my tmax was not cosmetically great but the engine's been bomb proof. What i meant was too good to be true as you guessed. Coupled with a lack of personal history of the bike (obviously as it's from a dealer, but would help in situations like this)...

To be honest it might just be a great find and once seen in the flesh, one might be tempted to go for it! hmmm... shepherd's bush right ? :D maybe i should pay them a visit

Way to expensive for a 7 year old scoot.

I'd ring them to make sure they actually have it, I went to see one they had advertised and they didn't even have it in the shop.
