Aprilia Sport Cube 300?
Anyone have any experience of the Aprilia Sport Cube 300? Never even heard of them before but assume thats what the Leonardo evolved to? Seem similar in size and layout to an SH300 but marginally cheaper. I'm tempted unless anyone says they are well known crapcycles?

I'm guessing but I reckon it'll be closely related to the Beverley.

Scooter Infos note the Chinese production: The design has been the subject of a specific development and ultimately Sportcity One features a superb style, highlighted by the aggressive form of the optics. In contrast, the finish bears the scars of the relocation of part of the production to the Chinese factory Piaggio Group. Nothing too bad, but still, the quality of paint and some plastics, their adjustments, or portable cables on the motor contrast with the serious productions of the brand.

They were well liked on launch...the snag with anything Aprilia is how reliable it will be and will you get spares? Or has the Piaggio involvement made these things better (or worse)??

I really like the look of that. I remember when Cheeky Thomas use to post on here. (he's a Piaggio Mechanic and works at a dealer in Anglia somewhere). He use to state that in general Aprilia stuff was better built than stuff from Gilera/Piaggio, but a lots changed over the years and Piaggio have definitely upped the quality control... So what the situation is these days I have no idea.

Taipan. I have the sport city 250. The 300 is just a bigger bore version. 274cc or thereabouts. I've got 39450 miles on mine.
Spares have never been an issue and the engine has been brilliant.
It have very secure handling and is very light. I have always thought it was very underestimated.
For ripping up in the city it's excellent and I also did motorways on it every day for a few years.
The only, negatives are that it is not a sofa chair in terms of comfort as it is more sporty than commutey.

It's £1400 cheaper than an SH300 and it's only £100 more than an SH125.

Thanks for that. Funnily enough I'm looking at a 250 today. I read on some Aprilia forum they (250s) suffer from a flat spot. Have you ever noticed this?masterchop wrote:Taipan. I have the sport city 250. The 300 is just a bigger bore version. 274cc or thereabouts. I've got 39450 miles on mine.
