Hi all,
Out of curiosity, i took the bmw c600 for a test ride today, from rainbow motorcycles in rotherham. I currently have a burgman 400 so what can i tell you well..... High upright riding position, very firm ride, very impressive throttle instant response and amazing acceleration and pick up speed. Lovely throaty engine.
also!! the breaks wow, put my lardy burgvan to shame i must say abs, awesome stopping power!!
Gonna try the GT when they have one in a couple of weeks, will put a bit more feedback and compare both when given that one a blast... shame about the prices mind!!!
ttfn....

Anyway to return to the C600 - your findings are remarkably similar to how I found it. The question is though, assuming you had the money, did you feel that you actually wanted to buy one? Yellomax obviously was so impressed he bought one, whilst I wasn't overwhelmed, and you sound impressed but far from blown away.

I too have recently taken the C600 for a test ride and agree with the above, very good and more than a match for the TMAX in some areas, however, the steering lock didn't work and the price! £10.5 grand for the one I tried, even this second hand demonstrator will be £800 more than a new 530 TMAX, though in fairness it did have ABS, heated grips and kept your arse warm. I pick up my new 530 next week.

Jed, I have a feeling you will have more fun on the T-max and plenty of money left to have a few beers to celebrate!
Probably not ugly enough for the 'Ugly Bunch'!

Re: BMW C600 sport test ride
Steering lock didn't work? That's odd, mine does. I didn't pay anywhere near £10.5k for mine. My friend Simon who has an X10 took one out on a test ride on Saturday (GT version) and pronounced it the best scooter he had ever ridden (we were riding in convoy and had a blast around Burnham Beeches)
Initial impressions - it's not as competent in town as a TMAX, but it's close. Out of town is a different matter.

I also rode the gt version, recently and happy to say...preferred it over sport! Fantastic weather protection, strong pick up, lovely engine noise! And even better weather protection..also very agile when on the move...only price stopping me now!
