Free Carole Nash DNA anti-theft system

This turned up in the post last night.
I remember readign about it on the webpage when I bought the insurance, but promptly forgot all about it.
It's a bottle of invisible ink with microdots in it, which you paint all over the place, and then an infrared light picks it up and plod can trace the bike back to you if it's recovered.

Anyone come across it yet?
Is it really registered to me, or just while I have Carole Nash cover, or just a piece of clever sales bullshit along with the Carole Nash hologram stickers that came with it?
Is it any good?
Worth bothering with?
What happens when I sell the bike, or change insurance?
Anyone got any ideas?

Not heard of the Carole Nash version.
Smart water is a similar thing. They can check your address from the microscopic particles.
It can wear off if its touched regularly so paint it somewhere hidden.
If you sell the bike I wouldn't worry.
Can't be bad if it's free!

Has anyone ever had a bike returned as a result of this?

I received a set last week too, but it says only for one bike, yet I have a dual bike policy with them. The instructions don't tell me which bike they have logged it against either, so It's still sitting here.
Both bikes are Datatagged anyway, but I have no idea where the tags are, and the seat foam is not the original where I was told the capsule had been injected, plus the white X9 is still registered to the previous owner as the cost of changing the details is too much for a system I don't even know is actually fitted.

Same here. I just assumed it was for my 2011 Burger and not my 2000 SH300. I just dabbed it everywhere on the Burger.

I found some stuff on the net about it yesterday.

It appears that it is registered free to the owner for a period of twelve months, (and then only while you're with Carole Nash), and after that it costs £30 per year to stay on the database.
My worry is that if you change insurances then the dots become invalid, then, theoretically, you get another kit, and another, and another, and another tc. etc. etc..
Pretty soon your bike is full of microdots and no-one would make sense of it.
It seems to me that it's probably good to just put a few around the bike and stick the stickers on, (and leave them there), and not bother from next year.

Unless, of course, it becomes a condition of the insurance that you apply the stuff - which is a little worrying if you don't - could this be another insurance cop out?
