Last ride of "Summer"
Saturday was predicted to be best day of the weekend, with clear skys but cold. I wanted a good ride, before all the doom and gloom of winter. Yorkshire moors okay, but west coast seemed best bet so, i went to Rhyl on Saturday. Down to Northwich on to Chester then Mold and St Asaph and to Rhyl. What a great day and what a great ride. Yes it was cold(well it was off the bike) but fantastic views and great roads. I came back along the coast roads and enjoyed them just as much, it seems it was just as well as it has never stopped raining today. After doing my 24000mls service last week at 23965mls i see i've clocked up another 400mls this week as well as a 150mls on the Burgman.
I bet i didn't see moe than 8 more bikes out either.

Nice! I probably did my last ride for the year on Saturday. It was snowing all morning today.

Re: Last ride of "Summer"
Sylar, that's brilliant. Glad you had a good ride. But why make it your last ride? There are plenty of other days in winter when it's great to get the bike out. I ride all the time. These days not because I have to, but by choice. It's great any weather. Yeah, I know it's more cleaning of the bike, but it's not really a problem especially for me when I've always had big chrome laden and often difficult to clean bikes (yes, I used them all the time too!). So cleaning the scoot is really easy even with some detailing work. Anyhoo...enjoy your bike. Looks a nice 'Wing' you have.
Probably not ugly enough for the 'Ugly Bunch'!

You're right there...the big Burger was a nightmare to get clean - so many awkward bits. The Tmax is easier to clean...but seems to get incredibly filthy if you even see a puddle!Meldrew wrote:You get yourself a 650 Burgman and when winter comes you'll realise what a pain in the arse it is to clean off winter road crap especially around the rear end of the scooter.

Re: Last ride of "Summer"
No Tmax9 it wasn't me, i ride alone. Last wednesday i was at Knott End from about 1.30 till 2.45pm. I seem to go to either Knott End or Glasson Dock every week mostly on Wednesdays or Thursdays, sometimes, I'll have a change and go to Southport. Data I didn't mean last ride of the year, only as it was officially the last day of Summer. I most certainly will carry on riding all the time i never put either of my bikes away, i just use the Burgman for runs of 50mls or less, but in winter i tend to use it more especially if it's snowy or icy. On a clear cold day i like nothing better than a nice long ride on the Silverwing
Where were you on Saturday Meldrew? down the Jam Butty mines i bet!
