Anybody used the Hein Gerricke Streetline panniers?

The 400 burger has so much storage I've never bothered to fit a top box, and I've got the factory backrest in the way too ( but I have the standard panel already too just in case).

I can feel a road trip coming on And at the moment the only luggage I've got is a tunnel bag that sits on the pillion

Not keen on panniers me....too wide, and too much in the wind, and not big enough for anything useful.
If you don't want a topbox, you can always put a bike bag on the rear seat, or a roll type thing.

If its just for an occasional road trip once in a while, just get a pair of throwovers?

I had a tank bag on my rear seat on my Tmax for the weekend away in Dunkirk. I managed fine. Just be frugle in your packing and only take what you need.

I'll definately be keeping the tank bag I've already got because it slots perfectly between me and the passenger backrest. It is one of the few pieces of luggage that don't add drag and probably reduce it. I was thinking of a meander through France and down into Spain - not sure I can be as disciplined on space as you Steve.

The HG panniers are soft throw-overs, the temptation was that they are cheap at the moment

If you go for the panniers try earl he has some black ones that just throw over the back seat and roadrunner has a set of silver oxford ones.

i have panniers but i have only used them once. my missus likes to take the kitchen sink lol

a top box and a duffle bag on the back seat is loads enough

An advantage of throw-over panniers is that the weight is carried lower down on the scooter.
