From the Midlands

Post by 2up »

Regards to all from the Midlands.
I have been riding Harleys for the last few years. My current bike is a 2011 Street Bob 1584cc but my aching bones tell me it's time for something more manageable so I've just bought a K7 Burgman 400. It's a 57 plate with 4300 miles on the clock.
Me and the missus have travelled thousands of miles all over southern europe on the Harleys but the weather has not been too kind to us this last couple of years, another contributing factor to look for something different. We ride for pleasure not endurance!
Only done a few miles yet on the Burgman but I'm pleasantly surprised with the acceleration and speed. Only dilemna at the minute is I have no top box.

Hi Paul,, Welcome.
Quite a lot of people with burgers on here.

Thanks all for the warm welcome. I used to be a mechanic in another life, not done much on bikes though so maybe 1 or 2 techie questions on the horizon.
On that subject is oil a taboo subject here like it is on some other sites? If not are there any brands specificaly not suited? The reason I ask is our local Asda have got Castrol GTX 5/30, 10/40 and 15/40 on offer at the min at £12 for 4 ltrs.

Others will confirm (Data?) but pretty sure it's dry clutch so GTX will be fine???

No.1 topbox option has to be Givi, same too for higher screen if needed.

Oh and welcome.
