Ownership v Population - Cars/Motorcycles

I guess there's the need to caveat that this is taken off Wikipedia, but an interesting way to show where long-term market opportunities are.
Oh and don't the Yanks like their cars, think we all knew that but the scale is huge.

Interesting to see it laid out like that.
At a guess UK population is 63 million, 30 odd million cars and less than 1.5 million bikes.
Not big enough or important enough for bike manufacturers to worry about targeting or designing for anymore.

I think the uk population is about 60 million and rising quite fast. Fast, compared to other European countries.

You are quite right Liam, I managed to type the car/population figure the wrong way round
I have edited it to swap them the right way round. Pop=63, cars=30, Bikes=1.5
I think the figures in the graph must be quite old. The most recent figures I had for China was
98 million motorcycles
More than twice what is on the graph

60 million!!!!!!!!!, blimey, when I were a lad,,,, no dont get me going on that one.
