I commuted this morning in 19F weather. It's the first time in a week that the roads and streets have been clear of black ice. Thank heavens for my Tucano Urbano muffs.

Inner + outer crab gloves + urbano muffs still arent enough for me unless i preheat the gloves before leaving home. Going back home from the office i still get frozen hands... These days i resort to using my heated inner gloves...

I agree that starting out with cold gloves reduces the effectiveness of the muffs. So when you start your scoot/bike, open your gloves up behind your exhaust to warm them. Works for me.

a bit more civilised way i was thinking was to make a rice pillow (little sacks containin rice) and warm them in the microwave just before leaving the office and inserting them in the gloves for some pre-heating...

Truth is, I keep a little electric heater going on the floor in my garage just to take the chill off and I put my riding gloves on the front guard of my Burger several feet in front of it. Keeps 'em warm. The tip about using the exhaust came from another forum. My hands stink a lot depending on where they've been...

Yes, its damned cold!! I'm also finding that Tucano Muffs and thick gloves still aren't enough. There again, my commute is only 10 minutes so its not the biggest of issues!
Somewhere I've a set of the Oxford hot-hands wrap around grip heaters - but I can't find the damned things!!
