Piaggios Attitude

Post by masterchop »

Well I can't sleep and its 4.22 in the morning so what better time to add a post!

I've got a dodgy wiring harness on my back lights. One back light is always on but the other goes on and off when it feels like it. Both brake lights come on luckily. I've had my existing wiring checked and soldered but the fault remains.

So anyway, my bike has been like this since mid December when I ordered a new harness from A.J Sutton.

I still don't have my part two and half months later.

I spoke to A.J Sutton yesterday and they told me that Piaggio will only give one delivery date to them and if that date is missed they will not give a new delivery date. They told me this is standard with Piaggio and that its just a case of they will make it when they make it.

If that is true then what an arrogant stance that is!

Does anybody know any different to this?

What is Honda,Yamaha, sym, kymco,Suzuki like in comparison?

I use my bike as my one and only transport and so if a part is not available in the u.k I need better service than what Piaggio are seemingly offering.

Guess they're still using families in the back streets of Naples to make the loom.

Too busy stuffing their face with pizza pie I would imagine.

I'm allowed to be racist towards Italians as I come from an Italian family and I'm half Italian myself.

Don't know about Sym or Kymco but I can't remember ever having to wait more than 48hrs for a part for any Japanese branded machine.

my dealer gets parts in 48hrs with new ordering system piaggio introduced. This sounds more like AJ lying. When i tried to order rear light pod from them they claimed piaggio said it was not in stock and would take 4 weeks. My dealer had it in my hands 2 days later.

Apilia have always been worse and its an uncommon scooter probably easier to get an auto electrician to sort it

As all Piaggio parts come through Fowlers of Bristol, why not contact them and ask if they have one in stock, and if they don't, ask when one could be expected if ordered now??
