Its already well blinged thanks to the previous owner Kayz (Lyn) with its Leo Vince 4Road exhaust and the blue/white pearlescent paint job however I want to make it more my own so am going to take it further. I had intended to vinyl wrap the front end last year with clear wrap to protect the paint job but did not get around to it. Now I have about 6 paint chips up front and two near the rear which just look terrible. I had attempted to touch up the existing paint job but it does not blend in at all well. So my plan is to fix/seal the paint work and wrap it a different color.

This post is going to just go through the steps I take to achieve this.

Today I have worked on some carbon wrapped parts. I managed to get them bubble/wrinkle free much better than a previous attempt on my Nexus. I am currently just working through ideas on how to decorate the TMax any suggestions on what not to do or to do would be welcome

The heated grips are OEM I believe, I have not tried any other type of heated grip but these are effective. They would likely be more effective with hand guards.

That carbon vinyl looks sweet. I kind of expected bubble-free to require a bit of experience.
With my record of failed screen protectors I won't even try. lol

Achieving bubble free with a non bubble free wrap just requires time and patience, it is of course much easier with bubble free vinyl

Wrapping is different from doing a screen protector. You clean the surface with isopropyl alcohol, cut out a section of vinyl large than your object. Take the backing off and lay it on the object. Then heat it with a hair dryer or lightly with a heat gun, then pull, apply smoothly, heat, pull, apply smoothly, heat, lift up section with bubble, re-apply smoothly, heat, pull, apply smoothly, etc.

Each piece above took about 30 minutes.

Which hand guards do you have?

I would go mad if there is a single bubble. Now that I think of it, I think I hate bubbles. lol

You did a perfect job though.

The leg guards look big....I was always too mean to shell out for them on my mk3! The mk4 comes complete with some thin strips that are supposed to do the same job and offer some crash protection.

Curiously, Yamaha don't do hand guards for the mk4...I've fitted a pair of these....

They are the OE Yamaha grips and cost ( sit down please ) almost £300 i ordered them with knowing the price along with some other stuff..
