Hi everyone thought I'd try this site the other one seems abit "anal" it seems if you posts don't have all the comers and full stops in the right place they get most upset.life's to short, anyway have piaggio x9 500evo, I want to like this bike but struggling, she's boiled the battery now refuses to start doesn't seem to recognise the key, will get to bottom of it shortly. Also have in garage really nice 1988 kawasaki zx10 keeping a foot in both camps here, had one before this ones a keeper.Bought the x9 because I'm getting on abit 50yrs young, like I say, like just about everything about it just trying my patience at the moment that's me (well you did ask) I'm MICK maybe see you around.

If the battery has boiled then you probably need a new voltage regulator. Otherwise welcome and Modern Vespa doesn't care whether you can spell or not

Piaggio uses a coded key system, officially u need a new cdi unit but auto electricians can supply a new key with an added box of tricks with a chip in it for a lot less money
