Was seriously considering the new 650 but decided it was too expensive. Fancy another 400 but don't want to dive in if model update/revamp is imminent. Any knowledge or rumors would be appreciated.
Geoff.

Rumour is a twin cylinder 400 sometime in 2014 to compete with the Honda SW-T 400. But as we know that Honda model is not imported into the UK so what the import strategy will be is anyone's guess?
I would try going go for a new 2012 650 model or a used L1, L2 model. Here is a typical example just listed

New 400s (probably 2011 models) are also advertised at £4500, and I think a muppet has just bought one from Bolton MCs?

The 400ZA is nice with a few extras but nearly £6500. But here is a <1 year old model

Bornagain, where did you hear about a twin? I missed that
I like the torque on the old thumper, I think they got the power delivery just right.

It was last year and must have been on some web page \ forum and I seem to remember reading it being discussed at a European Suzuki dealer conference for their future road map? Also there was a UK forum member mentioned a phone call or even an email from Suzuki UK that the new 650 was due in 2013 and the new 400 in 2014? Aren't all good rumours started by forums

A twin cylinder 400? Don't think I would be happy about that. Like Bluebottle I like the torque of the single.

If it is a twin you can be assured it will deliver good torque and more than the single cylinder engine. I would imagine it will be another single though. It keeps the weight down. I'm like you, I love this 400 single...it's simplicity itself and hugely robust and reliable.
