I'd recommend you try the Piaggio Beverly 350. 33bhp, ABS and traction control. Lightweight and goes like a scalded cat.

Welcome and happy hunting

Have a poke about on the forums, the Evo has popped up quite a bit.
There is some very beefy bodywork on various 400's

Hi and welcome aboard.
Best to go out and try several scoots and see which one suits you better, what might be good for one might not be good for you.

Hello and welcome.

With your budget you are limited to your new model selection.
Sym is a good choice as is the Kymco Downtown at £3999. The Sym GTS Evo 300cc at £3900 is this year replaced by the Joyride 300 at about £4300, but there will probably be GTS stock available, and maybe at a better price?
Stretch your budget a bit further and currently you can get a brand new Suzuki Burgman 400 for £4499 +otr (RRP £5515) as on fleabay by a couple of dealers.
Honda are bringing out their new Forza 300cc soon but prices are probably going to be closer to £5k?
The nearly new and pre-reg market is where you will save ££££. Good luck and let us know what you eventually get.

For a sport bike rider theres only one Yamaha tmax 500 spend same amount second hand. One of only 2 scooters with double yoke forks like a bike as far as I know . 50/50 front rear weight balance because engine is between your feet class leader since 2001 best seller big scoot in Italy for years but what do they know ;) ;) ;)

A couple of years ago I took a bike in for service, the technician rode a Gixer but parked up outside was a Honda SH300i, he was almost priapic in his praise for the scooter, reckoned it cruised along at 80 with his girlfriend on the pillion. Only issue could be limited under seat storage though.
