picked the burgman up from aberdeeen 2 weeks ago, really impressed so far,had a few teething problems.
decided to fit my optimizer and snapped one of the bolts in the starter relay, plus a few wires were corroded and fell off as soon as i touched them.
new relay off ebay £13 and some new crimped connectors all sorted.
decided to check the rest of wiring and found some more corroded terminals, probably due to the scooter being used close to the coast and sea .
side stand decided to drop slightly whilst going down the motorway doing 70mph,dodgy switch,so had to be ready to lift stand when engine cut out,as soon as the stand was up,the engine fired back into life whilst still moving.
I started the scooter while it was on its main stand, revs a little high as the choke was working, dont push a suzuki burgman 650 off the main stand,it tries to take off because the rear wheel is spinning.
i stripped all brake calipers down and made sure they were all free.
replaced the air filter as it was pretty dirty, even though the scooter has come with full service history, and supposed to have onkly done 700 mile since last service!
going to do the oil and filter soon, and other oils as i am not confident after seeing the state of the air filter.
I have done about 150 miles so far,and apart from a few niggles i can say i am very pleased.
I think the scooter may be a little too heavy to tow around on the back of our motorhome though,so have picked up a little honda cm 185 cruiser to take on our camping weekends.
