Oh what have I done
I've broke the cardinal rule and gone and bought an 04 Silver wing without even seeing it, or for that matter riding one !!!
I go to pick it up on Tuesday which means my first ride on a Twist & Go will be a 100 odd miles of the M1 back to Brum
The saving grace is that I haven't parted with any cash yet. so if it proves to be an old knacker then it'll be the train home after a few choice words with the seller
fingers crossed

Congrats!
Well, if its a 2004 model, you can't have promised to pay them that much for it!
My first ride of a big scooter was when I bought the Atlantic 500 - and that was riding 150 miles from Leicester to the NE in torrential rain!

Buy a return train ticket, it won't be much dearer than a single anyway and you can ditch the return if the scoot lives up to expectations.
Did that once before buying a DRZ400 off EBay, very grateful as it would've cost loads for a return single ticket!
Generally Silverwings are solid and no great weaknesses, hopefully there's decent service history and a visual check of tyres, forks, discs/pads will give an idea of general condition and upcoming costs.

Remember when you first ride it the weight is very low down compared to a traditional bike, so it may feel wobbly. Few hundred yards & you'll be used to it.

Jobs a good'un
Picked the SWing up on Tuesday night. Very happy

FSH, 16k miles, very tidy condition and a good price
Journey home was a different matter

pissed down all the way home. By the time I got home I was soaked to the skin. Mind you, the scoot was great on the M1/M42 it felt very planted going past lorries with no more wobble than I have had on previous "proper" bikes.
Just spent the last 2 days getting used to zipping around town etc.
The only annoyance so far is my mates taking the piss

(even my eldest says I've gone gay!)
Sod them I'm having a right laugh.
Cheers
Paul

Glad you enjoyed the ride, they are a great scoot!

Ps
Don't call it a Swing, people on here will think its a 125cc Model
