Hello folks, I'm new to this scooter scene. I been biking for 32 years, all sorts of bikes from a 50cc Suzuki X1 up to my current steed a 1050 Triumph Speed Triple, a fantastic bike but crap on a wet motorway. My mate has had a scooter as a second bike for years and has just gone up from a 125 to a 250 Yamaha but I fancy the Suzuki 400 option as i feel the 200 would be too underpowered for my needs. Going to view a Burgman 2001 plate tomorrow evening with 22k on the clocks apart from the usual e.g. Tyres, steering bearings, discs etc what do I need to know about the mysteries of the Burgman?
Thanks

Re: Hello
Pretty sure an '01 will be the "old" non-FI AN400X version, so should be circa £1k, I started on a pre-FI one too but found it didn't like winter starting much.
For me I'd be looking for slightly newer as there's plenty available unless you're on a very strict budget. Seat height is very low, some people like that but others not so much.

Re: Hello
It is the carb model version, this appeals to me as I'm confident when working on bikes, Low technology appeals. Maybe it was prone to carb icing? My Kwak KMX 200 was, the throttle use to stick open, well exciting.
