Vespa LX bargain?

Post by gn2 »

Is a brand new LX125 3v for £2490 a bargain or too good to be true? Linky

Vespa's own website says £3221, so where's the catch?

Well, it's a dealer and the price is repeated on their website too (and also probably eBay but I cannot access that from here).

Its that website which made me wonder.
Where are the links to any other model of scooter?
The "Contact" page isn't what one would expect from a mainstream dealer...

The website went live in May 2013 and is registered by someone in Todmorden. They have also advertised on Yell and Thompson Local. Seems like a one-man, recent start-up to me.

He has an interesting flick book on the history of the vespa, which is worth a look for those not already initiated...

Probably a forklift dealer who decided to cash in on the summer scooter buying craze that kicks off every year about this time,
Probably ordered them back in the winter and bought bulk with a big discount...good for him,,,what about servicing and repairs??????? he'll probably points you to a local vespa dealer who is obliged to do warranty work while the warranty lasts. Any small repair would probably be done by his forklift guy.
If he's still in business in a couple of years time, at these prices you can swap in the old and get a new one with a new warranty.
sound to me like a good deal...

That scooter is not a 3v but the older two valve 125ie. The 3v has a shield-shaped, chromed horn grille. The carb version has a round grille in body colour, the subsequent 125ie, a chromed horn grille.
