I want to do some basics to my '08 Honda S-Wing 125. I've picked up a copy of the Haynes manual for it. Where is the best place to buy parts needed for a service?

As for the oil, my local Halfords only seem to do Castrol Power 10w/30, looks marketed at sports bikes but is it ok in an S-wing?

The oil will be fine, you can use most oils, as you don't have a clutch to worry about.
I would buy proper Honda parts from a Honda dealer (ebay), keep receipt, as proof of using original equipment parts, Honda tend to price parts according to the size of bike, so for a 125 they are cheapish, ie a belt under £30

and will probably cost a fortune... you need SAE 10W-30 standard MB on the label, how many ml or litres do you need , have a good look around, my local tesco supermarket does fully synthetic 2 litres for a tenner, so dont overpay for fully synthetic oil, it wont be in there that long

if you were ordering items separate then the cost for each will probably be the same or greater, so to get what you need all in one place makes your task easier, so yes good find mate

I bought a PCX service kit from that ebay seller, genuine honda parts and top quality oil.
Delivery was two days.
Would definitely use them again.

That's where I got my service parts from, you get an invoice to show that you have used proper Honda parts.

Not trying to start an oil thread, but if you want you engine to go and go I would suggest using a fully syn oil. There is a difference and many advantages. On a 125, the cost is not an issue as there is so little of it. These 125's work hard revving very high and the oil gets very very hot. Cheap lower grade mineral and many semi oils 'damage' very easily. They 'shred' their molecular chains very early and of course never recover, just allowing much more engine wear to take hold, which in turn makes the engine run even hotter. It was driven home to me last year when we were benching some engines on different oils. We called in the oil boffins for help solving particular wear patterns and we solved it by using a particular fully syn oil, which incidentally gave us between 5-6% more power at fully throttle due to less friction. Fully syn reduces wear to virtually zero in mostly all engines. Just my two pence worth...
