Early warning of a ride out planned this Sunday. More than likely into Derbyshire although I have a yearning for a Bacon Butty at the Café at Ollerton so maybe meet there and sweep across into Derbyshire from there.
Any volunteers with a route to share?

cant come out.. my suggested route would be across to chesterfield, then via Hope to Castleton. a bit touristy but lovely roads. nice pubs n ice cream there etc. from castleton, leave via Winnats Pass (steep!) tun back down A623 then right on B6465 over Monsal Head (pub and ice cream again) then down onto A6 through Bakewell and to Matlock. Then either turn tight to Matlock Bath or left to go back towards motorway via Tansley. watch out for speed cameras.. no faster than 50 anywhere.

I would have done this one but I'll be over in that there Europe
Nice roads round there PD. It'll be busy getting into Castleton but Winatts is spectacular and Monsall head is a good stop off.

Funny, we always called them clinkers when I was in the Forces!

, clinkers came to mind as soon as I saw the word 'winnets. Now is winnets a posh word for clinkers, or is clinkers a posh word for winnets?????

We used these words when I was at school up north east. They were not produced by the `Male` specie !! as they were clinkers`.
The Female specie produced Winnets and it refer to pieces of toilet paper being suspended in the pubic area for a length of time and becoming sodden `water logged`.

As we would say! `It winnet come oot pet`

It sounds a good run Gerard and like PD suggested route, as long as we end up at Matlock for fish and chips. I have 65 mile to Ollerton, Say 80 minutes as A17 limits most of the journey then from Newark????? `Pick a time`
