Georgous looking aren't they!!!! I'm almost tempted as I used to fancy one of those. They are extremely rare in the UK as I don't think they were ever offically imported (a muppet had one if I remember correctly) . So even though it has a Burger-ish engine, could you get spare parts easily? and get it serviced OK?

I briefly had one. It doesn't have an actual (385cc carb) Burgman engine but an Italian license built one.
It was nice and light, weighed about the same as my 250. It was a very pretty bike as well.
Whenever I rode it you could see the power rangers and weekend warriors even looking at me,
usually most blank me.

Downsides... it's build quality was awful. Felt very cheaply made and put together. The storage was to shallow for even my medium helmet. The electrics on it weren't that great either and after only a few weeks I got rid of it. I couldn't trust it and it had been an impulse buy... It was cheap and local so I took it.

It's a shame, for I still think it's the prettiest Maxi out of the lot. They are still sold outside of the UK, Malaguti do a newer model using Piaggio engines which looks the same but they no longer import here...

The did also do 125 and 250 versions. I believe Wozza was a Madison 400 owner as well. I sadly can't reccomend one. If you want a 400cc carb get the older carb burgman with the same engine.

Yep I had a new 400 Madison and a 250 as well. My 400 developed a problem as it kept stalling at traffic lights etc which was a great shame as it was a fabulous looking scoot. The engines were Moto Morini if I remember rightly. I think Malaguti went bankrupt about 2 or 3 years ago. Their website was still up and running last time I looked.

Well I've just looked at their website and perhaps they were saved from bankruptcy...
