Morning Mike, I use the Ram Mount on the brake reservoir cover to fit my Tom Tom rider to the Max. Works very well, yes it is £21, but it seems well made, comes with loads of fitting bits and is supplied by return post. The power point on the Max is in the glove box but it as a small opening in the roof so the cable passes up through the handle bar cowling and comes out by the reservoir, so perfect.

The ram mount sounds like the best option. Where did you get yours from Spaceprobe?
Looked at the Ram mount on the internet and the problem is it has a 1" ball that is too big for my Garmin Nuvi 265 holder which has a cup measuring 2cm across.

I am surprised since the Garman and the Tom Tom use the same fittings, have you looked on the rest of their site to see what they have?
