I'm struggling to keep the shocks, engine casing and basically all the metal parts clean on my S-Wing. It's starting to look corroded. Is there any cleaning product that'll get the metal looking shiny again? How do you get to all those hard to reach bits?

de grease, polish with auto glymm, now the important bit, coat liberly with acf-50 before winter starts, spray the acf-50 into a container, then brush it on using a long paint brush on all shiney bits, exhaust, basically everything apart from brakes and tyres, and plastic body work, because that wont rust anyway. As road salt will spoil your nice shiney s-wing. Also in winter dont wash with hot water, use cold water, the heat speeds up the corrosive affects salt has on metal.

great tips horobags.. may i say that i have a 10ltr watering can filled with cold water, when i get back from the winter ride i always rinse the scoot down, before i cover it up, it dont get all the crud off but gets all the loose dirt of and salt etc, then a weekly good wash.. thats what i have done for years and seems to keep the scoot well thru winter or rainy bad days

Thanks for the reply! As I haven't owned the scooter since new there is already salt corrosion. Is there any way this can be shined up before applying acf-50?

Solvol & elbow grease to polish bare metal up, then I use loads of Turtlewax coats before the ACF50 over the top.

Grease around the outside of wheel bearings helps to stop water/salt/dirt ingress.

Grease around the brake caliper piston/cylinder joints, & on any brake pins helps to keep them working properly through winter, but obviously don't get any on the discs or the brake pad material.

Any cables (throttle cables, saddle release cables etc) get oil inside the cable then seal the ends with a blob of grease.

talking about the grease, i use bearing grease as its thicker and stays in place

then I use loads of Turtlewax coats before the ACF50 over the top.

Wrong.Acf50 should be applied to bare metal/paint work.
