Just seen a brand new (2013) Yamaha V-Max ......

1700cc and an asking price of £22 000 (yup that's right) on the road. :shock:

http://www.yamaha-motor.eu/uk/products/ ... ?year=2013" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Georgeous bike ... Matt black and bronze with four silver exhausts stuck out in pairs at 45 degrees on each side.

Bloke who owned it said he'd ordered it in May and just received it. Only two 2013 models in the country he said ... One down my way in Essex, and the other up north.

Nice!! :D

Fuel tank capacity = 15 litres! That'll get you to the shops and back... Just. But wait a moment, there's nowhere to carry any shopping!
No thanks, I'll pass on this one. I like my rides to be a teeny weeny bit practical.

I just love the look of it. Totally impractible for any normal biking use, but would look great as a piece of art under spotlights in the lounge. (And as sculptures go pretty cheap). :-)
Showed a mate today and he reckoned I needed 3 months at the gym just to hold it up.

You can dream though .........

An ex-work colleague of mine had the old style 1200 V-Max, on a 'J' plate. Apparently it was the 150 hp grey import, christ that was frightening on start up, half of Wigan knew he'd started it up, and he was in Atherton lol. He did offer me a go on it, needless to say I declined

Yamaha are releasing the sr400 to the uk next year, looks gorgeous, at about 5 grand, theres nothing like a big single, they recon with FI its going to be much easier to start than the older version, yet kickstart only, which is a shame, but I still fancy one.

You are a man with taste. The two tone 50th anniversary version is definitely the one to get.

Very nice, looks very similar to the Suzuki GN400 which was a nice enough bike as long as the oil was changed every 1 k miles to avoid camshaft wear, I owned the cafe racer variant of the Yamaha called the SRX 400/600 which was a very pleasant machine as well as the baby version called the SDR 200 which was a totally bonkers lightweight powervalve single producing 34 bhp which could easily run circles around the bigger singles. Kawasaki also produced a similar machine called the Estrella but it never sold well in the U.K. The 400/600 cc variants can be had for very little money but the little 200 fetches several thousand and are very hard to find.
