By Terra, a Japanese company.

The clever bit isn't the smartphone dock. No. It's the handy, clean and simple removable battery pack. Completely solves range anxiety and would be quicker and simpler than filling up with petrol. I like it.

Very neat idea. You will be able to take the battery indoors/in work and charge it up for the return journey if required.

Very nice.

You can get removable batteries on some of the UK scoots. Particularly the smaller ones
Some are neat single packs

Some are split like these (in the left margin)

Ah, I see. I wonder if this is practical for maxi electrics? The batteries might be a tad heavy and bulky to cart around. It's just that all of these are moped equivalents and I want something more akin to the Vectrix or BMW.

Me too
I think a 48v battery is around 8KG for a Li-Mn, two of those would give you reasonable umph I should think?

On the BMW the frame and battery casing are one and the same so your scuppered on doctoring it with removables
