Does it get cold enough on the South Coast to warrant a pony rug and hand muffs?

Even living in the best part of the UK it gets too cold and wet for me. I also had a deprived childhood, mummy and daddy only bought me a house but not a pony.

Tried putting muffs on the Beverly last week - it was awful - at speed, the wind was pushing them onto my hands so hard it was hurting, covered up several controls and made me drag the throttle all the time, which made braking 'interesting'. Took them straight off again - fortunately the weather has been warm recently. I might try without (its got heated grips), but the bars are totally exposed, so I might get driven to try again when it gets cold.

I had those problems with Muffs and gave up using them but when I got rid of the bike I thought I would try again. I called over to Get Geared thinking I would get a very expensive pair and that they may do the trick. The salesman talked me out of it and suggested these ones. I have to say very impressed, no control problems and I can even wear my very thick winter gloves with them. At the moment I am using summer gloves and my hands still get too warm so I think they are going to be great when it gets very cold.
