Hi, just introducing myself, after years of resisting the nagging of 'er indoors I succumbed and bought a well used 400 Burgman as I am frequently informed that I am too old for the Yam(s) FJ-1200 and V Max, as I am not a scoot man - apart from a 125cc Shelung I kept as a runabout at our caravan in the lakes and a couple of rebuild projects I didn't want to lash out a load of money, but when my local dealer offered me the Burgman for the trade in price of 500 quid he allowed I succumbed and bought it, 26,000 miles and owned by a guy even older than me -- a bargain.
After a 400 + mile trip from Pickering around the lakes and dales I am convinced I made a good choice
Apart from the lack of performance (compared with what I am used to) and the boring paint job (which can be sorted) the bike is a good little machine'
Right now I am "winterising" the bike for a trip to Scotland to the Thistle Rally in February -- hottie grips -- hottie boots -- handlebar muffs -- fork protectors -- fenda extenda -- wooly willy warmer -- etc. Trying to figure out a knee and lap cover in leatherette material like I saw on scoots in Italy -- anny suggestions ?
Hope to meet up with some of you folks in the future
Regards and happy riding
