Sorry if this has been covered before, but did you know that you can purchase Sym scooters from most if not all Yamaha dealers. I am not sure but it may be some sort of arrangement between the Sym importer (Moto.GB) and Yamaha. I purchased my Sym from the local Yamaha dealer about 6 months ago. We agreed a part exchange price and the new bike was delivered within the week. The dealer will also do warranty work and servicing.I don't think Yamaha are too keen on the arrangement, because my local dealer has 3 or 4 50cc Sym scooters on display ,but they are always at the back of the showroom.

Dunno...why should that be? Yam and Sym do have competing models, except for 50cc models. My local dealer who handles all the big 4 Japanese makers was a Sym dealer briefly, but definitely hasn't been for a while, despite their name continuing to appear on the Sym UK website.

When I went to look at the Sym before delivery, it was in a building at the rear of the showroom. I was told someone important at Yamaha was due to visit, so it was put out of sight. I phoned two Yamaha dealers and both told me they could get any Sym scooter that I might be interested in buying.

Why would you buy Sym at a Yamaha shop?
It would be like going to a good steak restaurant and ordering a plate of mince.

Indeed it would - Aberdeen Angus minced - more palatable and easier to swallow!
