I take it I am not alone in the satisfaction one gets from doing ones own service. Just changed the gear oil on the Max thanks Data for the heads up re Smith & Allan to obtain the oil from, great price and speedy service. The whole task took just minutes in the winter sunshine. Then gave the Max a wash and brush up, nice ride along the coast, walk on the beach and back home for tea and a biscuit. Purfffffffffect, strange the things that give us pleasure as we get older

Glad you like Smith & Allan, they are good and if you have a techy question about lube they are pretty good with advice. Funny thing space probe, but I'm totally with you on that satisfaction thing! AND we both want to try the 600i Max, AND we are both looking at taking pensions, AND we're both nuts!!

When I got rid of my bike for a scooter all my biker mates thought I was nuts and still do. The last straw was when I fitted an apron for the winter. He he

Aren't these type of posts usually written in Russian when they appear on here?

Smith & Allan have an ebay acct as well , same price if not cheaper than there site

have used them for a while.. so what to do for winter, i wash scoot, but its all just the below bits, the top bits dont really need doing.. then after a couple of days the bottom needs doing again... so does anyone use or know where to get a pressure type washer.. hand held type that works on pressure but not powered by electric... so a bit like a garden pump sprayer but a bit more pressure to make my life easier

I've got a version of this wee beastie: £7.99 Kingfisher 5 Litre Garden Shoulder Spray Sprayer.

I've even used it in the past to loosen the green stuff on my guttering.
