Hi guys,

Well I passed my CBT on the 26th Nov and brought myself a honda s wing on the 30th...so I have now just completed my first week as a new scooter rider... And I absolutely love it..big thanks to the guys on my previous posts for all their input .
As I am a new rider is there anything that I should be carrying on me at all times when I ride, all I have under my seat at the moment is my disc lock and a small torch.

Many thanks
Steve

8-) It's good to hear you're inspired by your scoot!

If you haven't got something like it already it might be worth getting a mini roadside tool kit to pop under your seat.

Maybe something like this basic but potentially useful £4 Rolson 23 Piece Mini Socket Gift Box Set (Catalogue Number: 211-1211) which you can collect at your nearest Tesco store for free.

http://www.tesco.com/direct/rolson-23-p ... tAodyBYAPg" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Oh and a tea towel wrap it in to limit/prevent rattling - which can also double as a seat dryer etc.

Here is an interesting tool guide: http://www.maxi-muppets.co.uk/forum/vie ... 3&p=174715" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Ride safe and inspired Mister Dogfood! :)

Buy a Oxford scooter bag, to put the stuff in, then you can keep it under the seat, when needed you can attach it to the 'curry hook'. It really is a well designed scooter, with the bag on the tunnel and the side opening seat you can still put fuel in it without detaching anything.

Spare of gloves - If yours get wet on the way into work in the morning, they are unlikely to have dried out by the evening (especially if your workplace is modern and does not have radiators to put them on top of).

Damp gloves are horrible.

Mobile phone!!! Important numbers (insurance companies, breakdown companies) - Just in case!

Otherwise make sure you are prepared for whatever the weather might throw at you. Make sure you have some sorts of waterproofs available at all times. The time you haven't got them is the time it'll piss down!!!!

Bungees with plastic non-scratch hooks (t k Maxx often have them in dirt cheap - £1 for 3) to carry big stuff on the back seat.
Spare gloves (nice and dry for the way home)
