No eels are damaged in the making of their pies.

No, no, no! You have to have stewed eels. Google 'em. Delish! I can remember going to the local pie shop with my grandparents nearly 50 years ago for pie, mash and eels. It was fascinating watching my toothless grandparents and others of a similar age 'gum' the bone out of the eel portion. If they were particularly well off they'd treat themselves to a pigs trotter for tea or even some seafood bought off the bloke who sold it around the streets of East London off of the back of a cart pulled by a horse - all of it just laying there in the blazing sun - no chilled counters in those days!

Even though we have a pie 'n' mash shop locally, it's a rare treat in our house as my wife can't stand it. She says watching me eat a pie and mash shop pie looks like I'm sucking the guts out of a dead tortoise.
Paddle harder. I can hear banjo music!
