as always you have to get one that has been looked after, there are around 52 registered nexus 500`s out there, so not many, they are easy to maintain once you got to know them, like all scoots they are a learning curve mechanically.. mine done 44,000 miles now and had for 3 years, finding a good one which does not need a lot of fettling is the hardest part, all i can say is the scoot is a pleasure to ride and well planted, great brakes and good ride... two up you would not know the pillion is there the poise is superb.. came to UK in 2004 and mk2 version around 2007.. the master 460cc engine in my opinion is strong, as long as you look after your scoot it tends to look after you. So if i was looking for one ... lots of history, looking more towards recent work then you can tell how the scoots been treated.
im sure different nexus owners have there opinions, these are just mine on my nexus

if its the one from Fowlers of Bristol Ltd its probably one of the last nexus imports to uk.. so probably why they asking that price, for cash i would say around the 2500 mark, if at all possible, if you have not been down to chat yet then feel the water by being all enthusiastic and have a ride etc then if they say... do you want it then, just say well i have got together 2500 cash .... wait for a reply and then say i could get together another 100 of me dad or something like that.... you get the drift....
parts are readily available in uk and italy so no problem there, its not done many miles and its got the later 8 roller variator which aids with the vibes on the single pot and will have the later 5 shoe clutch instead of the 3 shoe .... so bites at around 2400 rpm so if you do get it then there are only two other items to buy to bring the engine to full life... if i had the money i would definitely be tempted.... yet mine is all sorted so no need for me.. 15 ltr tank around 48mpg a to b and 65 mpg on a run .. just been out on mine to pick missus up

Yeah that's the one for sale at fowlers. Funniky enough I was thinking around the 2500 mark spoke to then today an they supplied it new and has always been serviced by them it's had 2 ow ers. That's good news that it's got the later variator and clutch. What would the other two things it need be to make it all right? I'm very interested in it but it's gunna be next week before I can get down to it just hoping noone beats me to it not even sure if there's a big market for them lol

fingers crossed for you, the engine loves to breathe easy Sprint competition air filter you just replace the paper one and a different brisk AOR14LGS silver spark plug, will cost around £50 for the two, will give you links once needed
