I know I shouldn't have! I filtered uphill to the lights tonight and sat straddling the right-turn lane line. Mr Beemer in the inside took offence, and actually blipped the throttle at me and old burgy! When the lights changed, it would have been rude not to have a little fun, so I wound back the twistgrip and let the hidden beast automatically unleash the surging torques! Imagine my surprise when his screaming tyres scrabbled for grip on the damp slope as I left him for dead on the line! My laughter nearly drowned his swearing out!

The classic mistake, they think you're engine is at most 125cc & they'll be able to at least try to stay level.

My favourite bike for this pasttime is the Lario, it looks so small they think it's some 125cc two stroke. They're aghast to find they're left far behind after so few seconds as the 643cc guzzi V-twin 4 valve per cylinder unleashes it's awesome torque away from the line. 75HP from a 165kg bike is plenty.

Driving through a local village the other night in my old XJ8, the speed sign thanked me for doing 28mph when all of a sudden a kid in a Pug 106 that looked like a dustpan with a sewer pipe sticking out of the back came hurtling up behind. At the traffic lights on the main road I slipped her into sport mode and booted it. She picked up her skirt and off we went, the lad valiantly came along side for a moment but I think he ran out of engine. Good job he'd got that big pipe so the pistons didn't do any damage as they passed through

I remember a time when a Porsche 911 driver took exception to me filtering to the front of the queue at some lights - as I accelerated away I could hear this strange noise - him spinning his wheels to keep up!! Now he really was an idiot - a Porsche actually has enough performance to see off a Tmax easily, but not if you stay in the same lane behind me!

Had fun with this on the Sym just outside work. Nice two lane dual carriageway that's set to 30. Car goes flying past me wondering why I'm not interested in playing ball... Maybe it was down to the fact I knew the speed cameras 300 yards up the road were gonna love his enthusiasm.

I had a group of chavs years ago pull up beside my little smart car and were knocking on the car window pointing and laughing saying its a shopping trolley while the driver was revving the nuts off the engine, I smiled politely as the lights changed and blew the doors off them, little did they know my normal smart car was fully remapped, dump valve. full stainless system k&n the works, 2 sets of lights later they pulled up and were "woah mate what the feck u got in that"? as I blipped my throttle casually so they could hear my dump valve wooshing like a little subura impreza lol, all my vehicles have always been boosted in someways, wish I still had it I loved it!

What annoys them even more if they are sitting up behind you (such as the Porsche) is to gradually reduce your speed to a crawl. I did this on a nexus and then took off after flicking two fingers.
