Helix exhaust change

Hello all.
Just bought an almost new exhaust muffler off ebay ( genuine honda part). Can anyone advise if it is a straightforward job to change over, or is there anything I will need to watch for/ any extra bits and pieces I will need. I am very far from being mechanically minded and am finding my feet with this one.
Cheers.

Need the packing gasket joins to manifold and clamp .I would advise lightly oil gasket help it slide together it will burn off when gets hot .Tighten exhaust to carrier before fully tightening joint .Get couple of gaskets they don't last long .

Just trying to remember replaced mine about 3 months ago. Good dose of penetrating fluid on the bolts and exhaust clamp the night before. Never sure how effective that is but can't do any harm.
The advice on gasket is good, I would also extend that to the exhaust clamp, its bolt and the three? exhaust mounting bolts. All get a bit pricey I'm afraid, my exhaust clamp was knackered.
Make a note which way around the existing exhaust clamp bolt faces (so you get it right when you put it back) as it gets very close to the tyre.
If the new exhaust doesn't line up with the mounting holes take the bike off the stand and jiggle the suspension around a bit, thats what I did when I realised that Honda hadn't manufactured the exhaust short after all.
Thats all I can think of easy job really with the right tools, I'm not that mechanically able either.

Try not to force packing gasket you may break it up if necessary open up opening on exhaust slightly its ok to tap gasket lightly but not too much force thats where oil helps.

Helix update: Got the pipe on , it's a honda exhaust, but more of a cylinder shape compared to the more rectangular shape of the original exhaust. Nonetheless it seems to be a good fit.
The Battery was flat after a winter break, so I got that charged up and took her out for a run this evening. Exhaust is very loud. It also seems to pop and sort of splutter a little as I ease off the throttle, but is ruining smoothly. Is this normal or will the pipe require a little more adjustment? Any thoughts?
Thanks,
HM

If its popping could be exhaust or air leak so look at rubber inlet manifold on carb as well as exhaust joints which is more likely as its just been fitted ,Before it gets too hot put thumb over outlet on exhaust to cause back pressure and put other hand by joints you may feel or hear leak .

Helix Monkey it is not a Honda exhaust if its round and is probabley loud because it wont have the baffles and restrictions that the original exhaust would have.
However what Pikey is saying is correct about leaks and if there is none then i still wouldnt worry.
You wont melt the piston unless it is running really lean
