Life Story

Hi Newbie Geoff here
In 1964 age 17 I bought my first bike, a '59 Vespa 150 as my new girlfriend lived 10 miles away. I fixed a few spotlights had the side panels chromed and bought my self a Parker and was hooked. I continued in this vein for a few years til my local bike shop convinced me that a 'proper bike' would be better. So I changed direction and over the years worked up from a Honda cd175 through various superdreams yam750 etc right up to a Gold Wing. I still hadn't found the perfect compromise of a bike I could tour on but also nip into town on and also the legs were getting less bendy by this time.
Then I discovered maxi scoots with a comfy feet forward position for my poor old legs. So from Nexus 300 through Burgman 400 to Tmax and Burgman 650. I even had an Aprilia SRV850 for a while but found it a bit cramped. Last summer I decided to have another go at a 'proper' motorcycle again so with the feet forward need in mind I traded the SRV for a Yamaha XVS1300. After the 100% fun of scooters I found the XVS to be 10% fun and 90% cleaning and polishing. So next Thursday I trade it in for a Burgman650 which I think is the best touring/popping to Tescos compromise there is. All because my girl lived 10 miles down the road. She is now my wife of 45 years and has sat on the back on a couple of trips to France.
So for those of you who are still awake that was my scootering(and motorbiking) life story.
