Maybe you've already seen this.

This is the A537 in Derbyshire (The Cat and Fiddle), already renowned as Britain's most dangerous road with 79 KSI (killed or seriously injured) crashes between 2002 and 2011.

Motorcycles only make up about 2% of the traffic on local roads but 28% of all Derbyshire KSI casualties.

The County is plastered with 'THINK BIKE' posters. If only more Bikers would think.

Imagine you'd been coming the other way on your Bike;

I've seen that clip and read a lot of the comments on You tube. The Guy was riding within his limits but did some dodgy overtaking on double whites. Obviously his observation was poor because he miss read the final bend and blew it. I have to wonder did he actually decide to go to the right or did he freeze. From his responses in the comments I get the impression he's claiming he made a controlled decision. He admits he was wrong and that's a good thing - we all make mistakes. If he had just gone off the road and suffered whatever the consequences were that's one thing but he appears to have a total disregard for the Car driver and his companions whether they were family or friends. All the macho posturing in the World cannot hide the fact that this Guy must have caused great distress to the driver who I believe froze in disbelief and kept his line.

If the car driver had turned around to see what had happened I get the impression that this rider, from his comments, would have offered him out if he had been challenged about his behaviour.

He survived, everybody survived so that's great, a lesson learned but the effect on all of us is that we are all tarred with the same brush. More and more restrictions, more and more cameras. And you know its hard to argue against them now isn't it?

Sorry Gerard, but how can you say that the guy was riding within his limits?

Res ipsa loquitor - the facts speak for themselves.

Rest of message deleted as may have caused alarm, consternation and 21st century litigation inducing stress and / or trauma.

When I ride within my limits, I tend to remain upright and on the correct side of the road! I think the bloke was riding well outside his limits just to make film to post on Youtube. We've all been guilty of a bit of speeding now and then but what he did could've killed those in that car in his efforts to impress. Totally selfish and a complete wanker. I hope he gets caught and gets a ban.

I wonder if his insurance paid out and if so, do they now want their money back. :?:

Also, just for the record, the police and insurance companies are now actively checking Youtube, and others, for such video 'evidence'.

Hi Jim Because in most of the video he is on the right side of the road. Its only when the red mist descended and he started crossing white lines and ignoring other indications that he should slow down that things go wrong. Up to that point I felt it was a pretty average ride out on that road. As the video went on I got a feeling that something BAAAAD was gong to happen - and it did.

I would be interested in others view as to the speeds involved. I cant judge it that well but didn't really think it was that fast. I will stand corrected though.
