I recently picked up an SH300i and I'd like to spend a few quid improving it. I have bought a filter and exhaust to free it up a bit but wondered what other mods / upgrades you'd suggest.

Well,, ive had a couple of sh300's, love them. Anyway, different screens, arrow can,, but the best mod was a j.coster variator, not cheap but I was lucky enough to buy an unused one off doug on this site. It really did make a difference, the exeleration made me giggle.

Thanks for the replies. So far I've changed the standard Bridgestone Hoops for Michelin City Grips for better 'UK summer' performance but I'm yet to be convinced.

I'm not interested in top end. The pipe and filter should free up the midrange and improve the throttle response.

I have read mixed reviews on J Costa variators. I'm after better off-the-line grunt, at the moment it shudders and grumbles if you give it a handful from a standing start.
Will a variator improve this?

Also the brakes are weak. Any suggestions welcomed.

It shouldnt shudder under acceleration, it should be smooth as silk in standard form, and with a j.costa ( which improves acceleration at the cost at a little top end). and the brakes on mine were ace. How many miles has yours done??

Thanks for your replies. The Michelins aren't bad, but aren't quite the mini Pilot Road 3s I was hoping they'd be and they don't turn as sharply as the Bridgestones.

My SH300 has 11,000 miles, FHSH too. I suppose I'm used to twin-rotor setup on various motorcycles but the initial bite and power isn't quite there for my liking.
