Silverwing rider saying hi!

Hi All,
Just bought a 2009 Silverwing having just traded in my X9 500ie EVO.
I have been riding bikes since I was 13 (just over 40 years now) without ever being without at least one!
Anyway, as age, arthritis, crash damage and laziness take their toll I decided a few months ago to take the plunge and delve into the unspoken and taboo world of the scooter!
My excuse was a 50 mile round trip commute that had me stuck in slow traffic for at least half the distance in a cage and even tho` I often did it on one of my "proper" bikes it seemed a comfy, easy, lazy, accomodating scoot was just the thing to make it much easier and couldnt get me in much trouble.
I bought the 2003 X9 500ie EVO and was quite impressed and it pretty much ticked all my required boxes although it was a bit slow on the uptake. Hell, I even took the wife out one Sunday for a run and some lunch and sightseeing!! Even she enjoyed it and she normally ridesa Street Triple.
I pretty soon realised I wanted more (better) from this new plaything and after much research decided the swing was the best compromise for its replacement.
Usual searching around and found one at a decent price, FSH, ABS, 16k miles, box and in pretty immaculate condition!
A deal was soon struck with the dealer in question and I picked it up yesterday and rode it home the 130 miles with a bit of a grin on my face.
I still have my other "proper" bikes that I will enjoy in the better weather and when the need for speed dictates but so far, the swing is a damn good all round fun machine........................................ so far!!!
My reasoning for picking this forum????
It seems one of the best supported and when doing my research it kept coming up in mr google`s faves but mostly as it gives a more constructive view with it not being single make/model.
Works for me.
